GWA SATURDAY SLAM
From the Asbury Park Convention Center in Asbury Park, New Jersey

Welcome to another edition of GWA's Saturday Slam, once again eminating from the Asbury Park Convention Center. We have a great show for you tonight, as our thoughts turn to A Night To Remember, the next GWA Pay-Per-View on Febuary 17th, live from Orlando, Florida! Perhaps we may reveal another match for that big event this evening in Asbury Park?

The main event tonight is the qualifying match for A Night To Remember. The winner will face GWA World Heavyweight Champion, Blackjack Harley in a one-on-one match. It's Death Row going up against "The Young Pistol" Travis Logan!

The GWA Television Title is on the line tonight also. Lord Horatio Nelson was very upset at what happened on Breakdown with his time limit draw with "Greyfox" Alan Stone, and has placed an open contract on his locker room door. The first person to sign the contract gets the shot tonight. Nelson wants to prove that he is still a worthy champion, and will take on anybody in the building.

The GWA Junior-Heavyweight Title is also on the line. The Homicidal Threat will defend his title against one half of the World Tag Team Champions, Keith Cole from Future Shock!

"Angry" Robert Mula will go one-on-one with the mysterious Kage!

Twisted Youth will take on Badd Moon in tag team action!

"Dangerous" Dave Trent will go at it with Dr. Badd!

But right now, let's head to the ring for the start of tonight's wrestling action!

"The Nicest Man In Professional Wrestling" Jarvis Rochester
.vs.
Steven Moore

This is for certain... the fans do NOT like Jarvis Rochester. He is arrogant, annoying, and quite frankly, he's a coward. Rochester stepped up on the ring apron and demanded that referee Robert Taylor HOLD the ropes open for him! What an ego! Rochester pranced around the ring with his tennis racquet for a few more moments, before the ex-football player, Steven Moore simply charged across the ring and started beating on his opponent, much to the delight of the fans.

Moore tossed Rochester into the corner and tore him up with some chops, and then took Rochester down with a bulldog out of the corner for a quick two count! Rochester came back with an eye gouge to Moore's eye, followed up with an inverted atomic drop and a clothesline to the canvas!

From that point on, Rochester used some technical skills to stay on top of Moore. A big DDT, followed up by a Rochester special - the airplane spin, and Rochester was ready to finish Moore off. He hit the Attitude Adjustment (Toyota Driver) for the victory.

Jarvis Rochester defeated Steven Moore with the Attitude Adjustment in 0:05:59
Rating: **

Rochester taunted Moore as he left the ring, and spoke a quick punk out to Eric Copeland and Robin Banks into the camera before leaving. We had to take a quick break.

***Commercial Break***

Back from break, Michael Greenwood and Sam Reed commented on who they thought would be the first to sign Lord Horatio Nelson's open contract challenge. Names were bounced around... Duncan "The Scotsman" McKracken, "Greyfox" Alan Stone, "The Fury" Robin Banks, who knows?

"Dangerous" Dave Trent
.vs.
Dr. Badd

Strange drilling and screaming sounds were heard, and the enigmatic JOBBER, Dr. Badd made his way out towards the ring. His opponent, the master of the DDT, "Dangerous" Dave Trent, didn't stand a chance.....

Dr. Badd charged across the ring and attempted to get an early advantage on Trent, but that was a no-go. Trent booted Dr. Badd in the gut and floored him with a single-arm DDT! Trent whipped Badd into the ropes and caught him in a spinebuster, before dropping a couple of his hefty elbows onto the good Doctor.

Dr. Badd fought back rather pathetically with a couple of shots to the stomach of Dave Trent, but it was all in vain. Trent hit some more power moves, backbreaker, powerslam, powerbomb, before finally finishing off Dr. Badd with an inverted DDT. It was almost mercyful...

Dave Trent defeated Dr. Badd with an inverted DDT in 0:06:17
Rating: 3/4 *

Not exactly a classic, but enough to get Dave Trent back on the right track here in the GWA. Two matches down, five more to go.

When we came back, it was time for the Control Center on A Night To Remember. One new match has been added to the card! Michael Greenwood provided the voice-over, as he went over this information.

The Story: Due to their recent rivalry with Super Augilla and The Great Hido, El Caballero and Magnum Dragon have formed a team together, known as Skydivers 2K. In response to this, Super Augilla and The Great Hido dubbed themselves as Club Kamikazee. The two teams will face off at the Pay-Per-View.

Now let's get back to the action!

Twisted Youth
.vs.
Badd Moon

The match started out with Eclipse from Badd Moon and "Dynamite" Devon Danzig from Twisted Youth. The two wrestlers exchanged lots of technical moves upon one another, Eclipse actually able to keep up with Danzig. However, early on in the match, Devon Danzig was able to nail Eclipse with an Ace Crusher after a failed hammerlock attempt from Eclipse. It looked to be all over, but amazingly Eclipse kicked out at two.

Danzig floored Eclipse with a springboard clothesline and then tagged in his partner, "Turbo" Todd Casey. The first thing Casey did was nail Eclipse with a big takeover vertical suplex. Eclipse looked to be out of it. Casey held Eclipse against the ropes and threw him across the ring with an Irish whip, but Eclipse sneakily got the blind tag to Lunar, who had been dying to come into the match.

Lunar literally jumped on Todd Casey with a Thesz Press and began pounding on the member of Twisted Youth! Lunar whipped Casey into the ropes and went for the backdrop, but Casey managed to stop and land a quick DDT onto Lunar, who was just asking for it with his head there.

Casey tagged Danzig back into the match, and the duo quickly nailed Lunar with a double Russian legsweep, followed up a double elbowdrop. Eclipse attempted to enter the ring and break the attack up, but he was nailed with a superkick from Todd Casey.

Danzig and Casey climbed up opposite sides of the turnbuckles and then nailed Lunar with their finisher, the Double Missile Dropkick! The match was all over!

Twisted Youth defeated Badd Moon when Danzig pinned Casey with the Double Missile Dropkick in 0:08:12
Rating: ** 1/2

Twisted Youth get a win they've been searching for. Maybe that shot at the World Tag Team Titles isn't that far off after all...

***Commercial Break***

We came back from break, and our cameras were backstage. GWA Executive Producer, Greg Pierce, was standing there with a cup of coffee in his hands, being hassled by "Greyfox" Alan Stone and Duncan "The Scotsman" McKracken.

Stone: Come on man! At least tell us!

Pierce: Look guys, seriously... I don't know who got to the contract first. I'm not sure that even Nelson himself knows. All I know is, Matt Walker took the contract down when Nelson's manager gave it to him. And you know Walker... he doesn't like to be bothered unless it's important.

McKracken: Aye... tha's complete bollocks Greggy....

The image on the screen appears to be the same as it is now, except now through a television monitor, as if someone was watching what was going on. The camera swings around to see Lord Horatio Nelson, clutching Manservant Angus by his collar.

Nelson: WHAT? You took the contract to Walker without showing me?!!!

Angus: S... s... sorry, sir!

Nelson: You'll be sorry in a minute. Who signed it?

Angus: I didn't look sir. I just saw a signature and took the contract away.

Nelson: You idiot!!! Why?!!

Angus: Sir, I thought you wanted a surprise challenge. To prove you are a worthy champion against anyone in the building....

Nelson: You're a complete twit Angus.... go srub my wrestling boots... NOW!!!

Angus: Yessir!!!

Angus scampers off screen as Lord Horatio Nelson sits down to ponder the situation. We have another match to get to.

"Angry" Robert Mula
.vs.
Kage

This one could be good, although there is a bit of a clash in styles. Kage is considered to be in the Junior-Heavyweight division, and Robert Mula... well, he's in the HEAVYweight division if you know what I mean. However, despite that, Mula is very agile for a man of his size, which could make this a good match.

Both men started off tentatively, not wanting to risk too much. A tie-up resulted in Mula using his strength to toss Kage across the ring and into the corner. Kage came out of the corner and tied up with Mula again. This time, Kage quickly slipped behind Mula and locked him up in a waistlock. Mula broke the hold with a back elbow, and took Kage down with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex! Kage landed on his head with a 'thud' as the crowd cheered Mula on.

Mula picked Kage up and peppered him with a couple of rights and lefts, before charging at him with a lariat. However, Kage managed to duck out of the way, flipped himself up onto Mula's back, and took him down with a crucifix!!! 1, 2, Kickout by Mula!

Both men got up at the same time now and charged at each other. Kage jumped over Mula with a leapfrog, and both men went careening into opposite sides of the ring. Bouncing back at each other, Kage nailed Robert Mula with a big flying forearm to the face! Mula went down like a sack of potatoes, as Kage laid the boots onto Mula, desperate to keep the big man down.

Kage went upstairs looking for a flying clothesline, but the big guy caught Kage in midair and flattened him with a spinebuster! Mula went to the outside of the ring and landed his famous slingshot somersault splash!!! That's like being crushed with ten tons of marshmallows! Kage writhed around in pain as Mula hooked a leg for a cover. 1, 2, 3... NO! Ropes! Kage used his left hand to grab onto the bottom rope to break the count!

Mula was just a little frustrated. He went back on the attack, looking for a way to put Kage out for good. He whipped Kage into the corner and charged in at him, but Kage side-stepped and took Mula down with a Russian legsweep! Kage hopped up to the second turnbuckle and came down onto Mula with a fistdrop! Two count only! Kage nearly snapped at the referee, as he complained of an ultra-slow count.

Kage went up to the top rope once again, intending to do more damage to the "Angry" one. However, Kage took a moment too long in attempting to get to the top, and Mula caught him with a fist to the midsection. Kage crotched himself on the top rope, as Mula nailed him with a belly-to-belly superplex! Mula made the cover... 1, 2, 3!!! He got him! Wow!

Robert Mula pinned Kage with a belly-to-belly superplex in 0:08:57
Rating: ** 3/4

The crowd cheered loudly for Mula, who has racked up yet another win here in the GWA. Perhaps a title shot is not far away.

However, Kage was in the ring, distraught over his loss. He pounded on the mat in frustration, but the crowd did not seem to sympathize with the mysterious one. Kage looked at the crowd in a rage and started cursing them out! Fans at ringside started throwing things at him, as he vented on the Asbury Park audience.

From the back emerged the masked man, Rapture, who had a microphone in his hands.

Rapture: I see they've screwed you over again Kage....

Kage looked up in surprise and saw Rapture walking down the aisle. Kage didn't budge from the ring, he simply looked and listened to what this dark character had to say.

Rapture: -They- are the ones who cause you to lose Kage. THESE PEOPLE!!!

The crowd instantly burst into a huge amount of heel heat. They didn't like this Rapture guy.

Rapture: I know you haven't found much luck as of yet in the GWA.... but all that is about to change. If you know what is right, you will come with me. Together, we will serve to a higher order to bring everyone involved in the GWA to their collective knees! Ha ha ha ha!

Kage looked around at the people of Asbury Park for a moment, and then left the ring and headed towards Rapture. It didn't take him long to decide what he wanted to do.

Rapture: Yes... I was right in assuming that you are an intelligent man, Kage. You shall be a pivotal part in me building my empire. I offer everything to you, Kage. Including.... revenge against all these people.... bwahahahaha!

The crowd booed again loudly, as Rapture left with Kage. A very strange alliance has been formed here on Slam... we had to take a break.

Next up was the GWA Junior-Heavyweight Title Match!

GWA Junior-Heavyweight Title Match:
The Homicidal Threat (c)
.vs.
Keith Cole

Tonight is the opportunity of a lifetime for Keith Cole. Not only is he one half of the World Tag Team Champions with David Gray, but he could become a double champion tonight if he defeated The Homicidal Threat. The Junior-Heavyweight Champion going in to A Night To Remember will face off against Kid Dynamite. Let's take a look at who will come out on top tonight...

Before the match actually got underway, The Homicidal Threat and Keith Cole showed a great measure of sportsmanship by shaking hands with one another. This looked set to be a good, clean wrestling match. The two wrestlers locked up, and The Homicidal Threat immediately took the advantage with a knee to the midsection and a headlock takedown on the challenger.

HT held Cole down on the mat, grinding out the headlock, and then moved around to place a bodyscissors on Keith Cole, but Cole scooted around, slipped free, and then amazingly dropkicked a sitting Homicidal Threat right in the chest! The stunned challenger went skidding across the canvas and into the corner!

Keith Cole picked The Homicidal Threat back up and Irish whipped him into the turnbuckles... NO! Reversed by The Homicidal Threat! Threat charged in at Cole, but Cole side-stepped and Threat went crashing chest first into the turnbuckles. Cole placed The Homicidal Threat on the top turnbuckle, but Threat regained the advantage by popping Cole in the head with a quick jab, and then flying from the turnbuckles with a Tornado DDT! 1, 2, 3... NO! Kickout by the challenger!

The Homicidal Threat picked Keith Cole up and sent him into the ropes. Cole came back and was backdropped up and over the top rope and to the floor!!! Cole landed with a hard thud, as The Homicidal Threat prepped himself for some sort of dive...

Running twisting plancha!!!!

A huge crowd pop errupted, as The Homicidal Threat took a moment to soak up the cheers. He tossed Keith Cole back into the ring, and rolled back in himself. However, Keith Cole was ready for him! He greeted The Homicidal Threat with a series of quick right hands before whipping the champ into the ropes. Cole caught The Homicidal Threat with a sidewalk slam, before heading up to the top turnbuckle...

Cole was perched up top, waiting for The Homicidal Threat to get back up to his feet, and then... flying hurricanrana!!! Cole quickly sprawled across the ring and covered The Homicidal Threat! 1, 2, KICKOUT!!!

The member of Future Shock started attacking The Homicidal Threat against the ropes, with a series of roundhouse rights. On the fifth attempt, HT ducked out of the way and took Cole down with a legsweep! Cole got back up quickly, only to be nailed with a brainbuster! The Homicidal Threat was in full control now.

Threat picked Cole back up and landed a Death Valley Driver on the challenger! It looked to be all over now! Threat climbed to the top turnbuckle, ready to soar, and nailed Keith Cole with the Pure Homicide!!! It was all over!

The Homicidal Threat defeated Keith Cole with the Pure Homicide in 0:10:15
Rating: *** 1/2
(The Homicidal Threat retained the GWA Junior-Heavyweight Title.)

Another good defense for The Homicidal Threat. After the match, Keith Cole got up and shook hands with the champion. To return the favor, The Homicidal Threat raised the hand of Keith Cole, recognizing him as a GWA champion also. A great show of sportsmanship on Saturday Slam.

***Commercial Break***

Back once again, our cameras were outside in the parking lot of the Asbury Park Convention Center, as a black Ford Mustang came roaring up to the arena. The person driving it looked kind of familiar... who could be arriving at the show at this late time?

Back inside, out of the cold, we had a match to get to.

GWA Television Title Match:
Lord Horatio Nelson (c)
.vs.
???

Lord Horatio Nelson made his way to the ring with Manservant Angus, who carried the Television Title for Nelson. Nelson looked just slightly nervous as he walked to the ring. Perhaps this wasn't such a great idea after all. He had no earthly idea who his opponent was. It wasn't McKracken. It wasn't Stone.... and both those guys were dying to know who beat them to the punch. It was time to find out...

---"Revolution Is My Name" by Pantera starts blaring---

SHANE VON ERICH!!! "The New Blood" Shane Von Erich signed the contract before anyone else could! Lord Horatio Nelson swallowed hard. This could be a very tough match for him, especially after a grueling match with Alan Stone last night!

Von Erich hit the ring with intensity, starting up an immediate brawl between himself and Lord Horatio Nelson. Von Erich fired in some haymakers, but Nelson fought back with a couple of jabs to the face. Being tough is all a part of the Von Erich name, and Shane absorbed the blows and grabbed Nelson by the neck, throwing in a couple of knees into the Englishman's midsection. Von Erich looked like he was going for an early Tornado Punch on Nelson, but the Lord hit a quick poke to the eye to send Von Erich reeling. Nelson quickly took "The New Blood" down with a lariat.

Lord Horatio Nelson then locked on an armbar, trying to keep his young challenger down on the canvas. Not a good idea. This only angered Von Erich, who powered his way up to his feet. Nelson quelled the comeback though, by throwing Von Erich back down to the canvas by his hair. Nelson dropped a knee across Shane Von Erich's chest and made a cover, but barely got a two.

Nelson picked "The New Blood" back up and tore into him with a series of European uppercuts. This stunned Von Erich enough so Nelson could nail him with a piledriver! The Television Champion picked Shane Von Erich back up and executed a backdrop driver! However, the challenger still had enough wits about him to roll out of the ring to avoid a pin attempt.

The champion followed Von Erich out, but "The New Blood" was ready for him. He grabbed Nelson by his trunks and flung him into the steel guardrail! Von Erich took Nelson by the head and rammed him into the ring apron before tossing him back into the ring. A meaner side of Shane Von Erich is on display tonight, perhaps fueled by the chance to hold the GWA Television Title.

Von Erich hit some right hands, before whipping the champion into the ropes and landing a powerslam. Von Erich picked the champion up, and did the same, whipping him into the ropes, this time looking for a backdrop. However, Nelson capitalized by putting on the breaks and nailing Von Erich with a double underhook backbreaker! Painful!

Ouch... and it seemed as if Shane Von Erich landed funny from that move. He was tentatively clutching at his arm as if something had gone wrong. Lord Horario Nelson quickly identified this weakness, and started throwing down the stomps on Von Erich's arm, who howled out in pain. Referee Bill Nash looked concerned, but Nelson shoved him away.

Nelson picked Von Erich up and floored him with an armbreaker! Von Erich was definately hurt in there. Nelson locked on a cross armbar submission, and Shane Von Erich promptly tapped out. Nelson had retained the title.

Lord Horatio Nelson made Shane Von Erich submit to a cross armbar submission in 0:10:07. Shane Von Erich suffered an elbow injury. He will be out for approximately 3 cards.
Rating: ***
(Lord Horatio Nelson retained the GWA Television Title.)

Well that really sucks for Shane Von Erich. If it weren't for the injury, he may well have had a good chance to win the Television Title! Lord Horatio Nelson gloated in the ring for a moment, but then the big screen clicked on, and an image of Duncan "The Scotsman" McKracken and "Greyfox" Alan Stone was on it!

McKracken: Oi... jus ye remembar Nelson.... we're comin' after YE!!!!

A huge pop from the fans as Lord Horatio Nelson had a sour look on his face. He cursed at McKracken and Stone as he and Manservant Angus left for the locker rooms. Bill Nash helped Shane Von Erich out of the ring and back to the locker rooms for medical attention. We had to take a break. The main event was next!

Let's get to the ring!

No. 1 Contenders Match:
Death Row
.vs.
"The Young Pistol" Travis Logan

Death Row made his way out first, to the tune of "F**k The Police", whilst "The Young Pistol" chose to enter the ring to Johnny Cash.... hmmm... just a little bit of a clash in musical tastes there. Neither guy was popular with the crowd, but they didn't seem to care, they just wanted to get at each others necks!

The two rivals were about to lock it up, when the clash in musical styles continued as "Grind" by Alice In Chains started blaring! Blackjack Harley was here! He was in the Mustang! Harley had regular street clothes on, a pair of dusty dark blue jeans and a leather jacket replaced his normal Blackjack wrestling attire. The World Champion had a microphone in his hands....

Harley: Hey, guess what fellas? I've got a BIG surprise for both y'all.... but I doubt either of you ungrateful sons o' bitches are gonna like it one bit!

With that said, Blackjack Harley unzipped his leather jacket to reveal a black and white striped shirt... a referee's shirt!

Harley: That's right boys... ol' Matty Walker just assigned me to be special guest ref for this here matchup. So I guess yer gonna play by MY rules now, and yer gonna like it! Now ring that damn bell, I'm in charge here!

At the referee's command, the bell rung, and Blackjack Harley entered the ring. Travis Logan was fuming, but Death Row really didn't seem to care at this point. He charged across the ring and floored Logan with a big lariat, and started stomping on "The Young Pistol".

Logan was struggling, but Death Row kept him down by throwing some punches onto the defenseless young man. The criminal then started choking the life out of Logan with his boot. Logan looked up and pleaded with Harley to call for a break, but the champ wasn't doing a thing about it! He was letting this go! He wanted them to brawl to the end of time if they had to! It was going to be a real man's fight under Blackjack Harley's jurisdiction.

Death Row finally picked Travis Logan up and whipped him off into the ropes. Logan came back with a jumping leg lariat to the criminal, which took him down. Logan dropped some rapid fire elbows, before picking his opponent up and chucking him in the corner. "The Young Pistol" threw a few boots into the midsection of Death Row before taking him out of the corner with a big hiptoss! Death Row was down momentarily as Travis Logan made a cover.

Harley got down into position, but then looked at Logan funnily....

Harley: You really expect to beat him with a damn hiptoss?!!

Logan looked enraged at Blackjack Harley, as Death Row tossed Logan off of him, and across the ring! Death Row quickly got back up and raked the eyes of Travis Logan, before hitting a snap suplex on him. A wrestling move from Death Row! Great stuff!

Death Row once again put some stomps down upon Travis Logan, until Logan finally got the hint and rolled out of the ring for safety. Death Row followed him, and we had a brawl errupting on the outside of the ring.... do you really think Blackjack Harley is going to count them out?

Death Row picked Travis Logan up and slammed him down onto the steel ring steps, as "The Young Pistol" clutched at his lower back in obvious pain. However, Death Row took a time-out to punk out some cowering fans at ringside. As Death Row was hovering over him, Travis Logan raised his leg and kicked his opponent directly in the groin! Male fans everywhere around the world simultaneously covered their eyes....

Logan got back up and launched Death Row into the steel guardrail, before fetching a steel chair and cracking it over his skull! Logan rammed the chair into Death Row's midsection, before tossing the criminal back into the ring. For added measure, Logan brought the chair in with him.

Blackjack Harley rubbed his hands together as he watched on, signifying that 'this was getting good'. Logan hit a double underhook suplex on Death Row, before coming off the top turnbuckle with a flying elbowdrop! Things were certainly in "The Young Pistol's" favor now.

Logan picked Death Row up and whipped him into the ropes, attempting to batter him over the head with the steel chair on his return, but Death Row ducked and snatched the chair out of Logan's hands, and then viciously tossed the chair into Travis Logan's face!!! Logan quickly slumped down to the canvas in a dream-like state.

Death Row placed the chair over Logan's face and went up to the top rope, a place where a brawler is certainly not in his element. Death Row patted his head a couple of times, and then flew from the top, a diving headbutt down onto Travis Logan's face that was underneath the steel chair!!! BOOM! Both men were suddenly out cold! A suicide move by Death Row resulting in a double KO for both men!

Blackjack Harley viewed the situation for a moment, and then slowly nodded his head. He grabbed a microphone and started speaking to the two unconscious bodies on the canvas.

Harley: Well, since neither y'all can git a winner outta this match, why don't I just call it a no-contest? And since you both like stepping in and messing with my matches, why don't I just put a stop to that right now? You both want MY title? Fine, then I'll give both y'all a shot at it at A Night To Remember. The World Heavyweight Champion is CHALLENGING the both of you to a title match... a Three-Way Dance boys! I'll see ya at the Pay-Per-View fellas...

Match with Special Referee Blackjack Harley
Death Row and Travis Logan fought to a no-contest in 0:11:16
